IL1B and periodontitis: Thus, our findings are consistent with the observations of Zeng et al. [28], who reported a higher prevalence and carriage rate of the T allele in patients with chronic periodontitis, and Zuccarello et al. [29], who showed a higher prevalence of the IL-1B+3953 C/T genotype, together with a lower prevalence of the C/C genotype in periodontitis.
