Xie K et al. found that the emergence of drug resistance to cisplatin has been linked to REV3L and REV1 activity in murine models of B-cell lymphoma and lung adenocarcinoma; decreasing expression of REV1 or REV3 via short hairpin RNA significantly sensitized these tumors to platinum-based treatment and stifled the emergence of drug resistance [59]. The gene discussed is REV1; the disease is B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
