In our preliminary study of the gut microbiome of patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer treated with anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 antibodies, we found that high abundance of the Akkermansiaceae family (of which Akkermansia mucinifila is a major member) is a favorable predictor of immunotherapy efficacy (PFS prolongation), thus confirming the results in the literature [76]. This evidence concerns the gene PDCD1 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
