Limited information is available on the expression patterns and functions of caspase-8 in cervical cancer, but there is evidence that caspase-8 activity gradually decreases from cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) to invasive cancer [23], which has been reported previously for other malignancies [24,25,26,27,28,29]. The gene discussed is CASP8; the disease is cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia.
