However, our finding that Bdh1 and DDAH2 expression are decreased following prenatal exposure to methamphetamine suggests that individuals that develop heart failure as adults may experience more severe contractile dysfunction and cardiac remodeling if they were prenatally exposed to methamphetamine (Chavva & Rorabaugh, 2022; Rorabaugh et al., 2016).
