Because they present, histopathological features that overlap with other lesions, diagnosis of SFT must be performed in combination with immunomarkers expression.7 Recent studies have demonstrated the presence of a chromosomal fusion (NAB2-STAT6) in many SFT cases.8 Thus, coherent nuclear immunoexpression of STAT6 protein has been used with high sensitivity and specificity, together with CD44, to diagnose SFT.
