Data indicate that mRNA and protein expression levels of MDR1 and GSTP1 were downregulated after transfection with miR-186, while upregulated following anti-miR-186 transfection, which demonstrates that this miRNA might sensitize ovarian cancer cells to paclitaxel and cisplatin by targeting both MDR1 and modulating the expression of GSTP1 [75]. Here, GSTP1 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
