Inflammatory cytokine IL-6 and downstream proteins such as nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) promote the development of hepatocellular carcinoma, indicating that inflammatory cytokine signals could be possible therapeutic targets [9]. Here, STAT3 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
