The second gene in our study is TOP2A that encodes 170kD topoisomerase IIa (topoIIa) which is involved in DNA synthesis, gene transcription and DNA topology.11,12 It plays a critical role in development, proliferation, and invasion in carcinomas.13,14 Interestingly, dysregulation of TOP2A is significantly associated with tumor proliferation and progression such as, pancreatic15 and EC.16 This evidence concerns the gene TOP2A and carcinoma.
