The risk of type 2 diabetes was observed to be negatively associated with APOA1 in participants of NGM (RR 0.82, 95% CI 0.75, 0.89) and prediabetes (RR 0.60, 95% CI 0.55, 0.65), respectively; in addition, a negative association was observed between DHA and the risk of type 2 diabetes (RR 0.89, 95% CI 0.83, 0.97) in prediabetes participants but not in NGM participants. Here, APOA1 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
