Consistent with this, other disease-related genes that were found differentially expressed in WAT, although their regulation does not appear to be under the control of PAS-SNPs, were also found: Kif1b (kinesin family member 1B) and Cdkal1 (CDK5 regulatory subunit associated protein 1-like 1), both of which have been previously associated with insulin sensitivity, diabetes and obesity in humans (Steinthorsdottir et al. 2007; Palsgaard et al. 2009; Kang et al. 2020; Maruyama et al. 2022). This evidence concerns the gene CDKAL1 and obesity disorder.
