SRSF6 and infection: Our original interest in SR protein function in macrophages was borne out of a global phosphoproteomics analysis that reported SR proteins, including SRSF6, were differentially phosphorylated in BMDMs at several sites over a 24 hr time course of infection with the intracellular bacterial pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) (Budzik et al., 2020).
