Dabrafenib was recently determined to be an inhibitor of RIPK3 kinase (Li et al., 2014) and was used to treat melanoma patients with the BrafV600E gene mutation (Long et al., 2017); however, several studies showed that dabrafenib contributed to serious adverse events, such as hyperkeratosis, cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and keratoacanthoma, arthralgia and haematological abnormalities (Hauschild et al., 2012; Dummer et al., 2020). Here, RIPK3 is linked to cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
