Currently, DJ-1 is recognized as a multifunctional protein participating in a variety of biological processes, including transcriptional regulation, anti-oxidative stress, and cellular transformation by acting as a redox-regulated molecular chaperone, cysteine protease, and transcriptional coactivator (6, 7).Multiple studies have shown that DJ-1 is overexpressed in many types of malignant tumors such as breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (8–10).
