The patients in the upgraded DCIS group were significantly younger (p = 0.021; mean age in the pure and upgraded DCIS = 53.0 and 50.5 years-old, respectively), had more symptoms of palpable lump (p<0.001), higher Ki-67 proliferation rate (p = 0.001), and more triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and less luminal A subtype (p = 0.042) than pure DCIS (Figures 2 and 3). The gene discussed is MKI67; the disease is ductal breast carcinoma in situ.
