PTK2 and neoplasm: Chen et al. (2010) reached the same conclusion and found that overexpression of FAK and its phosphorylated form in HCC tissues was associated with tumor stage, vascular invasion, and intrahepatic metastasis. The same phenomenon has been observed in human hepatoblastoma tissues (Gillory et al., 2013). In addition, several studies have demonstrated that FAK mRNA and protein expression levels are independent prognostic factors that affect disease-free survival and overall survival of patients with HCC (Fujii et al., 2004; Fan et al., 2019).
