The Venn diagram demonstrated that 9 key genes are involved in both the NAFLD and glucose metabolism pathways, including GCK, PPP1R3C, NHLRC1, ENO3, PPP2R5D, PFKFB3, PGM2, SLC25A12, and PFKP (Figure 1(e)). This evidence concerns the gene PFKFB3 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
