Next, we analyzed the intake of GFP+ bacteria by the bladder macrophages from 4 groups, showing that diabetes significantly increased the mean cellular GFP density from CYP-treated mice, but not in bladder macrophages from mice without cystitis (Figure 6C), suggesting that diabetes increases phagocytosis of macrophages from inflammatory bladder, also consistent with analysis on the key factors in macrophages (Figure 3C). This evidence concerns the gene PPIG and diabetes mellitus.
