IL1F10 and allergic asthma: IL-38 supresses host inflammatory responses via inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines/chemokines, as demonstrated when exogenous IL-38 was found to supress pro-inflammatory mediators including IL-6, IL-1β, CCL5 and CXCL10 in a humanized allergic asthma NOD/SCID murine model in vivo (6).
