Protein kinase C (PKC), activated predominately by the intermediate DAG, is associated with a range of vascular abnormalities including endothelial dysfunction, changes of vascular permeability and impaired angiogenesis (50), and the β-isoform of PKC (PKCβ) is most directly related to vascular dysfunction and cardiac hypertrophy (51–53). This evidence concerns the gene PRRT2 and cardiac hypertrophy.
