Additionally, a Korean population-based study using their prediction model (risk score 0–13, C-index = 0.716), which took into account age, sex, hypertension, DM, anemia, C-reactive protein, and the extent of non-obstructive coronary artery disease, showed that statin use was associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular events in the high- or very high-risk groups (risk score ≥7), but, not in the low- and intermediate-risk groups (risk score < 7) (31). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and anemia.
