Shikonin is found to be a potential inhibitor in pancreatic cancer as it mediates PD-L1 degradation which in turn suppresses immune evasion in pancreatic cancer cells via NF-κB/STAT3 and NF-κB/CSN5 signaling pathway (Ruan et al., 2021). The gene discussed is COPS5; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
