Our results have confirmed that the status of high mCURB-65 score, high PCT and low Alb can be significant risk factors for the survival of hospitalized elderly patients with infectious disease, and consolidated CURB-65, a new consolidated scoring index (mCURB-65 score plus PCT score plus Alb score), can be a useful and convenient tool to assess severity and prognosis of the elderly patients. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is infectious disease.
