In previous research, Shi et al[14] found that Caspase 1 (CASP1) and caspase 4/5 could specifically cleave GSDMD and that the cleaved form of GSDMD is necessary for pyroptosis; these findings were subsequently confirmed by He et al.[15] Actually, in cervical cancer, breast cancer and gastric cancer, pyroptosis plays an important role.[16] Studies have shown that pyroptosis can have the potential to become a diagnostic marker of cancer and contribute to the prevention and treatment of cancer.
