MAPT and Alzheimer disease: Then, our results are aligned with these findings because: (i) the polygenic profile comprising the ε4 allele and minor alleles of rs2075650 and rs12721046 is a proxy for cognitive impairment because it is tied to higher AD risk (ε4-HRP-AD), (ii) this higher-AD-risk profile is differentiated from the lower-AD-risk profile (ε4-LRP-AD) based on the associations with tau, and (iii) this profile is not differentiated based on the associations with Aβ42.
