Cell lines that failed to show the drug-tolerant subpopulation were mostly TP53 wild type (MCF7, HCT116, H460, A549, A375, and HepG2), indicating that induction of the drug-tolerant state by mTOR inhibition may be a common feature of human cancers with TP53 mutations (Fig. 2b, Supplementary Table 1, Supplementary Data 2).
