SMO and medulloblastoma: A previous study demonstrated that SHH-dependent medulloblastoma is sensitive to inhibition of pan-Aurora kinase inhibitor Danusertib (51), suggesting a potential interaction between primary cilia, hedgehog pathway, and Aurora kinase B and C. Therefore, we hypothesized that inhibition of Aurora B/C kinases may promote ciliogenesis and hedgehog signaling and that treatment with SMO inhibitor Sonidegib and Aurora B/C kinase inhibitor GSK-1070916 may exert combinatorial effects on GSCs.
