To explore specific mutations that may be associated with VSIR expression, we chose to only study NRAS, DNMT3A, IDH1, TET2, NPM1, WT1, FLT3, IDH2, TP53, CEBPA, and RUNX1 mutations, which are all present in greater than 5% of AML samples in the TCGA dataset. This evidence concerns the gene RUNX1 and acute myeloid leukemia.
