In the groups of 50‐ to 59‐ and 60‐ to 69‐year‐old individuals the APOBEC3A/B deletion was associated with a significantly reduced cancer risk (dominant model: OR = 0.51; 95% CI = 0.33–0.78; p = 0.002 and OR = 0.62; 95% CI = 0.43–0.88; p = 0.008, respectively; Figure 2 and Table S6). Here, APOBEC3A is linked to cancer.
