In the TCGA dataset, when comparing HNSCC to normal tissues, we found that the expression of ANO1, AQP9, BEST2, CHRNA5, and KCNJ15 was higher in HNSCC, whereas the expression of AQP1, AQP5, SCNN1G, and SCN4A was lower, which was consistent with our experimental results. Here, SCNN1G is linked to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
