IL17A and leprosy: To further determine which subset produced more IL-17A in skin, we examined the proportion of γδ T cells in IL-17A+ cells and found that more than 50% IL-17+ lymphocytes were TCRδ+ in TT patients, and comparable level of TCRδ + cells between LL patients and healthy controls (Figures 2E, F), indicating that dermal γδ T cells were the major source of IL-17A in dermis from lesion of TT but not of LL leprosy.
