CCL2 and Sepsis: A series of new biomarkers, such as heat shock proteins (HSPs), high mobility group box 1 (HMGB-1), C-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2), C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10), S100 calcium binding protein B (S100B), intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1), and E-selectin (12, 13), are closely associated with the progression of sepsis.
