PTH and primary hyperparathyroidism: In our study, the patients with primary hyperparathyroidism had statistically significantly higher values of PTH (p ≤ 0.001), total calcium (p=0.01), ionized calcium (p=0.003) and aldosterone (p = 0.028) compared to the healthy controls, while a statistically significant lower level in the study group was for phosphorus (p=0.003) and vitamin D (p=0.04).
