Inhibition of CAMKK2 reduces neuronal apoptosis and neuroinflammation in neonatal hypoxic–ischemic encephalopathy and germinal matrix hemorrhage in rodents (Zhang et al., 2018, 2019) and may facilitate the expression of adiponectin, an adipokine that protects against diabetes and atherosclerosis (Kobayashi et al., 2022). Here, CAMKK2 is linked to hemorrhage.
