The MSLN gene is shown to be overexpressed in many cancers including ovarian cancer, adenocarcinoma, pancreatic cancer, mesothelioma, lung adenocarcinoma, acute myeloid leukemia (Pastan et al., 1992), endometrial adenocarcinomas, and squamous cell carcinomas of the cervix, lung, head, and neck (Ordóñez, 2003). This evidence concerns the gene MSLN and adenocarcinoma.
