ASAP3 expression is minimal or nonexistent in normal epithelia, but it has been reported to be significantly increased in a variety of human carcinomas, including lung carcinomas, colon cancers, and breast cancers, and ASAP3 expression may contribute to a poor clinical outcome in non-small cell lung carcinoma and colon cancer [7,8,9]. The gene discussed is ASAP3; the disease is lung carcinoma.
