The serum levels of total bilirubin, ALT, AST, PT, INR and AFP were significantly higher in HCC patients than in healthy controls [1.2(0.8–1.3)mg/dl vs.0.2(0.1–0.7) mg/dl, p = 0.01; 45.5(41–82)IU/L vs. 26(18–30)IU/L, p<0.001; 66(39.5–110.8)IU/L vs. 28(25–32)IU/L, p<0.001; 14.8±2.8sec. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma.
