Cellular treatment with FIDAS-5, an inhibitor of MAT2A [3], strongly affected MAT2A activity and its related histone methylation (Additional file 1: Fig. S11A-C), as well as cell proliferation and tumour growth (Additional file 1: Fig. S11D, E), similar to that observed in cells stably overexpressing SIRT4 (Additional file 1: Fig. S10G, H). The gene discussed is SIRT4; the disease is neoplasm.
