Specifically, a recent multiethnic meta-analysis (China, Turkey, Poland, and Tunisia) comprising ten articles (3046 cases/2716 controls) showed that the VDR BsmI rs1544410-AA genotype reduced the risk of lung cancer (p = 0.05; OR = 0.63; CI95% = 0.40–0.99; I2 = 50%; pheterogeneity = 0.05; AA vs. GG and p = 0.02; OR = 0.78; CI95% = 0.63–0.97; I2 = 42%; pheterogeneity = 0.11; AA vs. G) [28]. This evidence concerns the gene VDR and lung carcinoma.
