The association was first reported by Ilyas and colleagues in 1985 [8] in a patient with chronic neuropathy and monoclonal IgM that reacted with disialylated gangliosides, and subsequently in patients with GBS and IgG or IgM antibodies to LM1, GD1b, and GD1a/GT1b gangliosides [9]. Here, CD40LG is linked to Guillain-Barre syndrome.
