These modulations were correlated with: an increased number of CD3+ T cells and CD20+ B cells with higher levels of the chemokines CXCL12 and CCL21, and lower levels of CCL20 [39]; CAF activation induced by TGF-β released by oral carcinoma cells [40]; the involvement of ECM molecule tenascin-C in CD11c+ myeloid cell; CCL21 in lymphatic endothelial cells via integrin 1β9α [41]; and increased secretion of cytokines IL-1β, VEGF and IL17 in blood neutrophils [42].
