CRP and tuberculosis: The mean concentrations of the C-reactive protein and fibrinogen were significantly higher in the maternal and fetal blood in PTB subjects when they were compared to those of the TB group: mean ± standard error 44.74 ± 44.89 versus 7.34 ± 3.36  mg/L, p < 0.01 for maternal C-reactive protein; 29.89 ± 30.68 versus 6.09 ± 2.96  mg/L, p < 0.01 for fetal C-reactive protein; 5.70 ± 1.78 versus 4.22 ± 0.83  mg/L, p < 0.01 for maternal fibrinogen; 4.88 ± 1.44 versus 3.97 ± 0.74  mg/L, p < 0.01 for fetal fibrinogen.
