Previous studies have found that serum inflammatory biomarkers such as serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and inflammatory markers such as proinflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 (IL-6) and procalcitonin can play an important role in the diagnosis of PJI [6,8,12,13]. Here, CRP is linked to juvenile polyposis syndrome.
