Our immunocytochemical analyses indicated co-localisation of FAM159B and INSM1 in some of the cancer cell lines, but we were unable to detect significant expression of INSM1 in pancreatic tissues and PanNET samples, which is in line with the fact that INSM1 is abundant exclusively in embryonic developing neuroendocrine tissues and certain cancers. This evidence concerns the gene SHISAL2B and cancer.
