ADM2 and preeclampsia: Because ADM, ADM2, and CGRP are among the most potent vasodilators (e.g., CGRP is ∼1000 times more potent than acetylcholine and substance P) and protectors of vascular barrier integrity [14,16,50,51,52,53], the gel-forming analogs may represent viable therapeutic candidates for treating a variety of endothelial dysfunction-associated diseases (e.g., RHTN, preeclampsia, and hypertensive acute heart failure).
