TF treatment was efficient in preserving RGCs from iron-induced necrosis and ferroptosis, NMDA-induced necroptosis, apoptosis and ferroptosis, and CoCl2-induced apoptosis, demonstrating the strong and multiple neuroprotective mechanisms of TF and its high potential in glaucoma neuropathy treatment since apoptosis, necrosis, and ferroptosis were described in RGCs from human glaucoma retinas [28].
