ACE2 and COVID-19: Since ACE2 and TMPRSS2 polymorphisms have been potentially associated with the severity of COVID-19 condition [5,6,7,8,9,10,11], and considering that severe COVID-19 disease has been found to be associated with a higher risk of post-COVID respiratory symptoms [23], it would be reasonable to consider that these polymorphisms could be also involved in the development of post-COVID symptoms.
