SDC1 has emerged as a regulator of CSCs phenotype in triple-negative breast cancer [101], where SDC1 gene silencing in MDA-MB-231 cells [100] causes a downregulation in several components of the IL-6/STAT3, Notch, EGFR, and LRP6 pathways [100,101] (Table 1). The gene discussed is SDC1; the disease is triple-negative breast carcinoma.
