The upregulation of Twist in colon cancer (SW480, HCT116, and HT29 cell lines) not only results in the high transcriptional expression of vimentin, N-cadherin, and fibronectin but also decreases the expression of E-cadherin, which could promote EMT and enhance the metastatic ability of tumor cells [52,79]. The gene discussed is TWIST1; the disease is colonic neoplasm.
