TFAM and posterior cortical atrophy: We analyzed mRNA levels of mitochondrial transcription factor TFAM, which is responsible for mitochondrial biogenesis, from PCa patients with various stages (n = 499) compared to normal samples (n = 52) from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and found that TFAM mRNA expression levels significantly correlate with PCa Gleason scores (Gleason scores 8 > 7 > 6) (Supplementary Figure S2).
